Often our clients become over obsesed with page speed and improving it, and I totally get it. But, with the different online reporting softwares differing in their results so much, whose results should you trust?
We often direct clients to use GTMetrix over the others as this often provides the most insight and is most consistent in its results. However, nothing should replace good ol’ Developer Tools. A quick open of this in your web browser will revolve most of what you need to know.
Many people neglect to place User Experience over other tasks such as Page Speed Optimisation. Ensuring things such as preloading links and lazy loading images will take care of both UX and performance.
